I want one but I already have two dogs so I can't T-T

The pictures are so cute T-T

When I buy a house in ~5 years (that makes me feel old thinking about that) I'll get one though and I will adopt a cute black kitty and I shall name her Gretel.

PS some cats love dogs

it can be easier to socialize a kitten to dogs

Most cats can learn to tolerate dogs. Very rare are the cats that will seek out an attack. it's dogs with a high prey drive that you worry about.

Though my favorite shelter cat attacks dogs for fun

One of my roommates had an outside cat, but our neighborhood had around 15 or so stray cats (I counted once when they were all in our yard up to 10 but then they had more kittens). She got into a fight with one of them and had to go to the vet, so that's when my roommate decided to keep her as an inside cat.

The alpha stray cat (I don't know how cat dynamics work but he seemed alpha-esque) was this large orange cat, with like a mane almost (just thicker / longer hair around his neck) and super muscular looking. He was the only one we could actually pet sometimes since he was the only one not afraid of us. Would come up to us and rub up on our legs while they other cats stared on, like, "See how powerful I am. I am not afraid of these tall beasts."

It was pretty sad how many strays there were there :(

That extra bit around his neck and on his face is scar tissue from cat fighting. Lots of those big tough cats are good with people. They're not good with other cats. Cats pick up on their scrappy nature and it provokes fights.

I've heard of Duck Season and Rabbit Season.
Why is Elmer Fudd running around shooting cats?!?

Because they live in the country and they're tired of feral cat colonies appearing

People shoot cats here regularly. Also a good reason to not let them out

Does catnip really work? I almost bought some today but I decided to ask a professional first

For most cats, YES! try rubbing it between your fingers and crushing it a bit before offering it to kitties. Makes the volatile oils come out.

Kittens all turn into cats. If you don't like full grown cats, consider that when you may want a kitten. There are people that routinely abandon cats at 1 to 2 years of age because they're not as small and cute anymore. Very sad.

Do you like cats? In North America it's coming up on kitten season, when countless cats will be born.

Make sure your cats are protected! Keep them inside if they aren't fixed to avoid unwanted litters--and opt for a spay or neuter appointment for the health of your cat. Millions of unwanted animals die in shelters each year. The majority are due simply to pet overpopulation problems and a lack of homes. Prevent it by preventing litters.
